The Orchestra : Rewind North 80's Festival, Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire, U.K. - 6th August 2017
What a great time we had at the Rewind North 80's Festival held at Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire on Sunday 6th August. We were there mainly to see a rare U.K. appearance by The Orchestra (featuring former members of Electric Light Orchestra) who put on a fantastic performance in front of over 20,000 music fans - and they quite rightly took the plaudits as highlight of the festival by many, many people.
The weather was nice and sunny at the beginning of the day but the rain steadily got worse as the final couple of acts took to the stage.
The line-up on the Sunday was Johnny Hates Jazz, Junior Marvin's Wailers, The Orchestra, B.E.F. ft Glenn Gregory, Glen Matlock, Jaki Graham, Owen Paul, Claudia Brucken & Paul Heaton, John Parr, T'Pau, Toyah, Nick Heyward, Belinda Carlisle and Status Quo.
Band line-up : Mik Kaminski, Louis Clark, Louis Clark Jnr, Eric Troyer, Glen Burtnik, Gordon Townsend and Parthenon Huxley.

Jeff Lynne's E.L.O. : Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, U.K. - 21st June 2017
Tonight we had front row seats right at the back of the venue to see Jeff Lynne's ELO at the opening night of their 2017 U.K. tour at the Sheffield Arena. It looked like all 10,000 plus seats were sold. We decided on sitting at the back this time to witness and fully appreciate the spectacular light show.
The temperatures outside were just under 30 degrees, and inside the Arena it was even hotter. There were some huge industrial chillers and free water being given out to the audience, but it was very warm up where we were sat. Great light show and a very tight professional show by the band. My personal faves were Turn To Stone, Twilight and Evil Woman.
Sadly, Richard Tandy would not appear at any of the four concerts due to ill health. But Jeff did confirm that Richard once recovered would rejoin the band for their next tour.
We really enjoyed the show though, and the next gig would be at Wembley Stadium on 24th June in front of a sell-out 80,000 crowd. The show also being filmed for a future dvd/blu-ray release.

The Orchestra : Epcot, Florida, USA - 24th April 2017
The Orchestra were booked to perform 12 sets over four days at Epcot this year during the Garden Rocks series. Our daughter, Emma landed in Florida about 4 hours prior to the bands twelfth and final set on the 24th April ahead of a 2 week holiday. So she headed off to the gig with her friends and just made it for the final 30 minute show, which they all really enjoyed.
Band line-up : Mik Kaminski, Louis Clark, Louis Clark Jnr, Eric Troyer, Glen Burtnik, Gordon Townsend and Parthenon Huxley.
