Roy Wood's Rock & Roll Band : Holmfirth Picturedrome, U.K. - 21st December 2011
What a fantastic show at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Wednesday 21st December, even better than Roy's 2010 Christmas show at this same venue. Roy and the band were in top form in front of a sell-out crowd who were definitely in Christmas party mood! Myself & Sue had a great view of the show being on the upper balcony front centre with the band performing all the greatest Woody songs including 'Flowers In The Rain', 'Blackberry Way', 'Angel Fingers', 'I Can Hear The Grass Grow' and newer songs including 'Big Girls Blues' and 'New York City'.
Check out my Youtube Channel to watch some videos taken by myself at the concert - 'Blackberry Way', 'Angel Fingers', 'Flowers In The Rain' and 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday'.

Tina McBain & Phil Bates Christmas Show : Middleton Hall, Tamworth, UK - 10th December 2011
Another great Christmas show thoroughly enjoyed by everybody at this lovely venue, Middleton Hall near Tamworth. It was also nice to see Phil Bates making his first public performance since breaking his fibula and ankle damage sustained prior to a gig in Uruguay back in October. Phil was still suffering some discomfort as he was due to have the cast removed on the following Monday so he spent the gig sat in his chair.
Lots of new songs performed amongst the familiar ones. The first part of the show featured just Phil to be joined by Tina lfor the second half of the show. Amongst the songs performed were Bus Stop (by The Hollies), Helplessly Hoping (Crosby, Stills & Nash song), This Could Be The Last Time, Can't Get It Out Of My Head, A Hard Days Night, Empty Rooms (a new song penned by Phil while recovering from his injury), Universal Child, If I Needed Someone, Just My Size, Midnight Blue, Sugartown, Blackberry Way, It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This, Falling, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Rock & Roll Is King - Encore - Happy Christmas (War Is Over).

Trevor Burton Band : Calva Bar, Carlisle, U.K. - 19th March 2011
What a fantastic show at the Calva Bar, University of Cumbria Campus in Carlisle on Saturday 19th March. It was a real privelige to witness the legend that is Trevor Burton live in my home city.
Trevor Burton was a founding member of million record selling sixties chart topping band ‘The Move’ and since their demise has played with a host of rock legends. This includes touring as guitarist with the Steve Gibbons Band, playing with Denny Laine, Robert Plant of Led Zepellin, jamming with Hawkwind, the Pink Faeries, John Cale and Paul Kossof and appearing throughout Europe with Dexys Midnight Runners and the Big Town Playboys. He has also played with the sadly demised guitar god Jimi Hendrix and appears on one of his albums.
He started playing around the age of seven and by the age of thirteen was gigging six times a week and earning more than his father who was a foundry worker. At the age of fifteen he turned professional and two years later formed The Move with Roy Wood and Bev Bevan leading to a number of worldwide hits.
Since 1983 Burton has run his own band playing gigs mainly in the Midlands area around Birmingham. Last year he was asked to play at the Colne festival and took over the time slot set to be occupied by the Blues legend Peter Green, who had unfortunately fallen ill, leading to ecstatic reviews. The music he plays live is set apart from his days with The Move and allows him to play basically what he likes which is – Blues / Rock. The other members of the band are Drummer Bill Jefferson who has been with Trevor since 1999 and Pez Connor who joined in 2009.
With all his experience in the music business Trevor Burton can certainly claim to have ‘been there’ when the sixties and seventies British music explosion occurred.
Track Listing : Further On Up The Road / Little Rachael / Down The Road / River Runs Deep / Buffalo River Home / Down Down Down / There Ain't No Men On This Old Train / Get On Board Tonight / Wild Thing / Dear Mr Fantasy / When It All Comes Down / If You Love Me Like You Say / Sunshine Of Your Love / Out Of Time / Werewolves Of London.
The audience lapped up great music with a few up and dancing at the front during the rockier songs. All the band were chatting with the crowd before and after the show and kindly posing for photos and autographs too.
